Having received his PhD in economics from Queen's University in 2011, David is now a researcher and teacher at the University of Melbourne in industrial organization, with a focus on the retail sector and energy markets. Using both structural and experimental econometric techniques, David studies problems of market power in cable TV, petrol, electricity and medical markets. David is the Director of Capability Building at the Centre for Market Design, an affiliate of the Melbourne Energy Institute, and has served as an expert on antitrust cases in Australia and Canada.
