Brian is a senior business development manager with the School of Engineering.

He brings to his role diverse experience across engineering, finance and entrepreneurship, and has worked in multinational corporations, government  organisations  and  start-ups in  6 different  countries.

Innovation has been a big part of Brian’s career. He was also a business development manager in a tech commercialisation firm focused on agritech for South  East  Asia.

Prior to that, Brian was a research engineer at Rio Tinto, working with high-temperature smelting pots and heavy machinery in the French Alps to produce the world’s finest aluminum. This was a contrast to his stint as a PhD student when he spent 3 years in a cleanroom suit trying to make the world’s smallest superconducting microchip.

Brian has a  PhD  in Materials Engineering from  Cambridge  University,  and  an MBA  from Ecole de Management Grenoble specializing in the management of technology and innovation.
