The Melbourne Energy Institute is pleased to host the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) as they present the findings of their latest Quarterly Energy Dynamics report.

The latest report,  released Wednesday 22 July 2020, covers market dynamics, trends and outcomes during Q2 2020 (1 April to 30 June). You can view the report here.

At this seminar, AEMO will discuss key findings of the Q2 2020 report including:

  • the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on electricity demand;
  • drivers of falling wholesale electricity and gas prices;
  • and the changing generation mix:  including black coal-fired generation reaching its lowest Q2 level since 2014.

Jonathan’s expertise includes: advising on the integration of climate and energy policy; quantifying the market impact of regulatory changes; and analysing trends and outcomes in Australia’s energy markets.
