A recent forum hosted by the Australian Carbon Innovation and Federation University explored hydrogen’s potential as a sustainable fuel for the Latrobe Valley and Gippsland

Held at Federation University in Churchill on 8 August, the forum brought together researchers, industry and community with an interest in understanding the pathways to hydrogen production – carbon and electrolysis based – and its opportunities and challenges.

An exciting line-up of speakers including Chief Scientist of Australia, Dr Alan Finkel, and other distinguished leaders and international representatives delivered the latest advances in research and industrial applications for hydrogen.

Professor Michael Brear, Director of MEI and Professor of Engineering at The University of Melbourne, presented on the safety of hydrogen.
