Podcast: AEMO Q4 2019 Quarterly Dynamics Seminar

On 19 February, the Australian Energy Market Operator's (AEMO) presented key findings from their most recent Quarterly Dynamics report.

The Q4 report analysed energy market dynamics, highlighting trends and outcomes experienced by the NEM and gas markets during the third quarter of 2019 (1 October to 31 December).

Dr Jonathan Myrtle, Team Leader of Market Insights at AEMO, presented the key findings of the Q4 report, including: extreme heat and bushfires in December triggering the need for emergency energy reserves; wholesale electricity and gas prices falling sharply; and sunny and dry conditions affecting the generation supply mix.
