On 14 August 2024, the Melbourne Energy Institute hosted Ms Kerry Galloway, Manager - Market Insights from the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), as she presented findings from AEMO’s Q2 2024 Quarterly Energy Dynamics (QED) report.

The report covers market dynamics, trends and outcomes during Q2 2024 (1 April to 30 June 2024), and compares results for the quarter against other recent quarters.

Geographically, the report covers the National Electricity Market in Queensland, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania; the Wholesale Electricity Market and domestic gas supply arrangements operating in Western Australia; and the gas markets operating in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.

Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO)

Kerry Galloway is the Manager of Market Insights at the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO). She leads the team responsible for the Quarterly Energy Dynamics report, a key publication from AEMO.

With 20 years of experience in the energy industry, Kerry has worked in various areas of the wholesale and retail gas and electricity markets, including demand forecasting, network planning and connections, and market reform delivery.

She holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) and a Bachelor of Science (Applied Mathematics) from Monash University.
