About
During a webinar on 12 November, the Melbourne Energy Institute and Kerry Galloway, Manager – Market Insights at the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), discussed insights from AEMO’s Q3 2025 Quarterly Energy Dynamics (QED) report.
The session outlined market dynamics, trends and outcomes from 1 July to 30 September 2025. The presentation compared results against previous quarters - covering the National Electricity Market, the Wholesale Electricity Market, domestic gas supply arrangements, and gas markets, in all key states.
Presenter

Ms Kerry Galloway
Manager - Market Insights
Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO)
Kerry Galloway is the Manager of Market Insights at the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO). She leads the team responsible for the Quarterly Energy Dynamics report, a key publication from AEMO.
With 20 years of experience in the energy industry, Kerry has worked in various areas of the wholesale and retail gas and electricity markets, including demand forecasting, network planning and connections, and market reform delivery.
She holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) and a Bachelor of Science (Applied Mathematics) from Monash University.
Moderator

Dr. Dominic Davis
Lecturer, Power Generation and Transport
The University of Melbourne
Dr. Dominic Davis is a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Melbourne, whose research focusses on understanding and addressing the technical, economic, and practical constraints that shape our energy systems. Dominic loves working with enthusiastic graduate students, researchers, and industry practitioners on diverse aspects of the energy transition.
His research experience and interests include: the development of energy system modelling frameworks, electricity market simulation and analysis under demand and renewable stochasticity, and large-scale infrastructure development protocols and their interaction with rapid energy system transition.
Prior to joining The University of Melbourne, Dominic was an Associate Research Scholar at Princeton University, where he examined the determinants of energy transition speed in the US and strategies to overcome deployment bottlenecks.
Dominic was a senior postdoctoral researcher on – and remains a contributor to – the Net Zero Australia Project. During his time as a Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, he also contributed to a range of other energy systems research initiatives, including wind generation forecasting and electricity market analysis.
About the AEMO Quarterly Energy Dynamics seminars

In partnership with the Australian Energy Market Operator, the Melbourne Energy Institute regularly hosts the AEMO Quarterly Energy Dynamics (QED) seminars, sparking discussion on the findings of AEMO’s QED reports. The reports cover dynamics, trends and outcomes in Australia’s electricity and gas markets.
