On Wednesday 5 May, MEI was pleased to host Dr Jonathan Myrtle from the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) for our second Quarterly Energy Dynamics seminar of 2021.
In this webinar, Dr Myrtle discussed key findings of the Q1 2021 report including:
- mild weather reducing energy demand;
- wholesale electricity prices falling, resulting in regional spot electricity prices reducing by 21-68% compared to Q1 2020;
- gas prices and exports being driven by the northern hemisphere’s winter.
