MEI Symposium

About the MEI Symposium

Each year, the MEI Symposium showcases the multidisciplinary energy research taking place throughout the University of Melbourne. It provides a space for collaboration, as well as an opportunity to celebrate the past year's accomplishments.

The symposium features prominent international and local keynote speakers, talented graduate students, and academic staff presenting their research within MEI’s four program areas:

• Energy Systems
• Power Generation and Transport
• Heavy Industry and Resources
• Energy Materials

Past keynote speakers include Australia’s former Chief Scientist Dr Alan Finkel AO; Anna Collyer, Chair of the Australian Energy Market Commission; Dr Kerry Schott AO, Chair of the Energy Security Board; and Audrey Zibelman and Daniel Westerman, former and current Chief Executive Officers of the Australian Energy Market Operator.
